Coffee is such a part of my life, it got me through having twin newborns, no joke. I look forward to my morning cups of coffee the night before when I’m going to bed, anyone else? So any day I get to make artwork that includes cutting out paper in shapes of coffee mugs and a pour over, is a good day. When @OXO asked me to work on the ad campaign for their Pour-Over Coffee Maker with Water Tank, I was like, um yes, please. Since it makes a single serve cup, it’s perfect for the studio. The clear water tank has easy to read measurement markings, and once you pour the water, the water tank slowly distributes the water over the grounds. Coffee is my lifeblood, it’s part of my process. This morning, I walked into my studio, poured the hot water into the tank and I gave myself a creative challenge. I started cutting out shapes and seeing how many I could get done in the few minutes while it brews. Then I arranged, sipped, cut, arranged, sipped until this collage felt finished.
I've been working on a collection of original paintings and I'm excited to share them with you! I'll be sharing them with my newsletter subscribers first, so sign up if you're interested. This series is a group of five smaller works, full of color and looking for new homes.
I now have prints available in my online shop. These are prints of original gouache paintings. Two sizes are available 8x10in and 13x19in, they fit matted IKEA RIBBA frames perfectly, which are a great affordable framing option.
The 8x10in print fits this IKEA 12x16 RIBBA frame perfect.
The 13x19in print fits this IKEA 16x20 RIBBA frame perfect.
